The 75th Cannes International Film Festival in France kicked off on 17th May 2022. For the first time in India, a group of 11 film celebrities led by Sports, Youth Welfare, Information, and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur attended the 10-day event.
Actors Kamal Haasan, Madhavan, R. Parthiban, Actresses Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai, Pooja Hegde, Tamannah, Urvashi Rautela, Aditi Rao, composer A.R. Rahman, Directors Shegar Kapoor, participated in the Cannes Film Festival.
Directed by A.R. Rahman “Le Musk” screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Actor Madhavan has praised Rahman’s short film ”Le Musk” on his Twitter page. In it, “ When I saw A.R. Rahman’s directorial debut ”Le Musk” at the Cannes Film Festival, I was overwhelmed with emotion. I am amazed at his understanding of the media and how he approaches and uses an idea with new technology from all angles.”

The story for Le Musk’s short film was co-written by A.R. Rahman and his wife Saira Rahman. The short film Le Musk which runs for only 36 minutes has been made in virtual reality mode. The screenplay is based on how a woman named Juliet identifies with many men she has met in her lifetime with the perfume they use.
