Kuttan (Mammootty), a retired police officer, is involved in an underground business with friends. Over strictly raises his son who lost his mother at an early age and never let go of playing alone. Thus, the son is warming up with the grief that father Mammootty should die. On the other hand, Mammootty’s younger sister Parvathi, who is getting married in a different caste marriage despite strong opposition from the house, lives in the same apartment.
Mammootty can only sleep at night if he wears an oxygen mask due to shortness of breath. Using this breathing problem someone is constantly trying to kill kuttan by mixing the chemical in the oxygen mask. What is the problem behind kuttan and that person? Why he is trying to kill kuttan? Tells the rest of the story of the film.
Mammootty makes us feel like we are suffocating in breathless scenes. He makes his son look at him in the blink of an eye without using words. That much strict father he was. Swirl in scenes of casually exploring who keeps fingerprints of who is trying to kill himself. The strength of the film is that a superstar has endured such a negative role.
Appunni Sasi is the actor who gets the applause in the film despite the low scenes as Kuttappana. Vasudev Sajeesh, the son of kuttan performed very well in his role. Claiming to be a schoolboy and an innocent man who locks his shirt in the eyes of his father. Mammootty is hated and marginalized by the over-conditions of caste and sectarianism. The progressive character of Parvathi, who plays Bharathi, is a perfect match for remarriage after the death of her husband, which is also a caste-denied marriage.
