Former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, who was arrested by the Kerala Police in 1994 and later acquitted by a Kerala court for selling cryogenic rocket technology abroad. Madhavan, who has played the role of Nambi Narayanan in this, is making his directorial debut by directing this film.

Surya in Tamil and Shah Rukh Khan in Hindi are coming in honorary roles. It will be released on 01 July 2022 in 5 languages including Tamil, Hindi and English. The film premiered yesterday at the 75th Cannes Film Festival in France in the presence of international celebrities. Actor Madhavan in turn attended the function.

Composer A.R. Rahman, who enjoyed watching Madhavan’s film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, praised it on his Twitter page. In it, “I just saw the film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect at the Cannes Film Festival. We must pay homage to Madhavan who has given a new dimension to Indian cinema.”
Similarly, famous Bollywood director and producer Shekhar Kapoor tweeted, “Rocketry: The Nambi effect based on the life of rocket scientist Nambi Narayanan. The film, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last night, was directed and starred by R. Madhavan. It was heartbreaking to see Nambi Narayanan as one of the spectators” he said.

Anurag Thakur, Minister of Sports, Youth Welfare, Information and Broadcasting, representing India watched the film and said, “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” will make the audience forget the truth. Definitely a story the world should see. Congratulations to actor Madhavan for capturing the soul of the story and sharing it with the world” the Union Minister said.
